Welcome to a new Sermon Series for Lent 2021. As we travel on this journey with Christ through the Gospel of MARK, we take a closer look at the foundation of what Christ wants us to see, both in ourselves and in this world. Come to the Chapel and WORSHIP!
Feb 17 Mark 1 : 21 - 27 Ash Wednesday is an opportunity to 'receive the Mark' and begin the journey to Lent. As we start our journey with Christ, we choose to surrender the past and embrace Christ's promise for a beautiful and better future!
Feb 21 Mark 1 : 29 - 45 Why DID Jesus not want anyone to talk about the amazing nature of His miracles? There IS something ReMARKable going on, but Jesus wants us to focus on the right thing.
Feb 28 Mark 2:13-27 The people of Jesus time (and our also) get confused about WHO Jesus is here to serve. In today's lesson, Jesus' teaching sets us straight.
Mar 7 Mark 4:30-41 Just like we get confused on WHO Jesus is here to serve- we also get confused on WHAT kind of Kingdom Jesus is trying to build.
Mar 14 Mark 5:1-20 ReMARKable! Jesus approaches a place no other teacher would go- to help a people who no one wants to help and saves a man that no one knows how to save. How do you think the people would respond?
Mar 21 Mark 7:24-30 The disciples seem to be still missing the whole message, but a woman seeking Jesus for salvation for her family helps to show what needs to be done.
Mar 28 Mark 9:14-29 Jesus brings healing to a man possessed with a demon and is also able to help the disciples see their own need to grow in faith.
April 1 Mark 14:10-26 Holy Thursday (or Maundy Thursday) is the celebration of the Lord's Last Supper... the First Holy Communion. In Jesus time, it was also the annual celebration of the 'Seder Meal'. As we learn more about the Seder, we come to appreciate the deeper significance of Holy Week.
April 2 Mark 15:25-32 Tenebrae (Service of Darkness) is the annual remembrance of the events of Jesus' persecution, crucifixion and sacrifice. While a more 'somber' service, it is vital for us to accept the sacrifice of Christ, in order to receive the blessing of His resurrection.
April 4 Mark 16:1-8 HE IS RISEN! The MOST ReMARKable thing in human history! Our Lord and King has risen from the tomb- and HE LIVES! How are we supposed to NOT be AMAZED at that!
April 11 Mark 16:14-20 Bright Sunday is a historic time to celebrate the JOY and LAUGHTER that comes in rejoicing with our Lord. Our Lord LAUGHS at death- and that is simply ReMARKable!
