WELCOME to Lesson 1 of VBS in a BAG!  Mr Tim and Miss Becky Welcome us to get started- so click the video (to the right) and let's get going!

Pastor Bob helps to read through the opening to the Gospel of John- who talks about the VERY BEGINING OF TIME!

Mr Tim has got a GREAT game for us to to do at home today- and it helps to teach us about today's lesson!

Today's Game:   "King Says!"

This game is JUST like ‘Simon says’. Have the children stand in a circle, and have a leader stand in the middle of the circle. The leader is the 'king' or 'queen'. The children have to obey him or her, but only if they use the words ‘The king says’ or ‘the queen says’ . So if the king says ‘The king says sit down’, then they have to sit down, but if the king only says ‘Sit down’ then they have to stay standing. The children who respond without the queen (or king's) say so- is OUT. You can also have the children take turns to be the ‘king’ or ‘queen’. As the parent- MAKE SURE you go last- so you can use, “The King says to do the dishes.” Or “The Queen says to clean your rooms.” Cause… it’s good to be the King!
QUSTIONS:
 How does it make you feel to be 'bossed around' by the king or queen?
 Jesus leads us as our King- but He also DOES everything along side us that He asks us to do.  How is that different?

This station has a LOT of information.  Today we meet the Apostle John.  He knew Jesus personally and was very good friends with Him!  Let's hear his story and learn about the Christmas Wreath!

Picture
Miss Rose has gathered all the stuff you need to to assemble an AWESOME craft.  Read the included instructions for your Day 1 Craft to make your own Advent Wreath!

Picture
The Chapel puppets have been cooped up for MONTHS and they just can't wait to give praise to God!

Today's Song
Oh What A Glorious Night!

Picture
Miss Becky wraps the day up with a recap, some short directions for your Advent Circle Time throughout the week and closes with prayer.

Picture
This is the activity you do through the rest of this week (probably at dinnertime) with your family.  Have Mom, Dad, Grandma or Grandpa work through the Advent Circle Guide (in your bag)!
